To celebrate two decades of boundary-pushing horology, MB&F introduces the M.A.D.2 \u2018World Tour\u2019 edition, the third chapter in its unconventional M.A.D. saga. Originally launched earlier this year, the M.A.D.2 was conceived by designer Eric Giroud as a deeply personal tribute to 1990s club and DJ culture. The first Orange edition was reserved for MB&F\u2019s Tribe and Friends, while the Green edition, which opened to the public via a raffle system, went on to win the Petite Aiguille prize at the Grand Prix d\u2019Horlogerie de Gen\u00e8ve. The new \u2018World Tour\u2019 edition builds on that momentum, adding a fresh visual identity while keeping its cultural roots intact.<\/p>\n

The M.A.D.2 is the second act in a story that began with the unexpected success of the M.A.D.1. It is a love letter to the wild, expressive spirit of the 1990s club scene, particularly the legendary MAD (Moulin \u00e0 Danses) and Dolce Vita clubs in Lausanne, where Giroud immersed himself among DJs, musicians, artists and actors. That atmosphere of creative energy and rhythm is translated directly onto the wrist.<\/p>\n

Raised central subdials display the hours and minutes, echoing the look of DJ turntables, while the grooved central dial mimics the texture and colour of vinyl records. Encircling this is a platter inspired by the stroboscopic band of the iconic Technics SL-1200 Mark 2 turntable, complete with Super-LumiNova stop pins. Every movement of the wrist sets the platter spinning, driven by an automatic winding rotor that is visible from both the front and the back of the watch.<\/p>\n

Housed in a 42mm stainless steel and sapphire case shaped like a smooth pebble, the M.A.D.2 balances playful design with serious watchmaking. At its heart lies a bi-directional jumping hour module developed by MB&F, powered by the Swiss-made La Joux-Perret G101 calibre. Beating at 4Hz, the movement delivers a robust 64-hour power reserve.<\/p>\n
