Hasselblad has expanded its X System with the launch of the X2D II 100C, the world\u2019s first 100-megapixel medium format camera with true end-to-end High Dynamic Range (HDR), alongside the new XCD 2,8-4\/35-100E standard zoom lens. This pairing sets a new benchmark in creative flexibility, combining unmatched imaging performance with portability and intuitive control.<\/p>\n

The X2D II 100C builds on the success of its predecessor with breakthrough features such as AF-C continuous autofocus, powered by deep learning algorithms for reliable subject tracking. Phase Detection Autofocus (PDAF) now covers 425 zones, enhanced by LiDAR-assisted focusing and a new AF illuminator, delivering sharper and faster performance even in low light. The result is a camera that captures brilliance at every moment, whether in portrait, landscape, or action photography.<\/p>\n

As the first medium format camera to support true HDR, the X2D II 100C elevates Hasselblad\u2019s Natural Colour Solution to new levels, preserving highlights, reducing overexposure, and enhancing tonal depth.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Images can be processed as HDR HEIF or Ultra HDR JPEG and reviewed on a 3.6-inch OLED display with 1,400-nit peak brightness; 75% brighter than its predecessor. For editing on the go, Phocus Mobile 2 allows HDR processing and wireless connectivity across iOS devices, with tools including AI-driven Hasselblad Natural Noise Reduction.<\/p>\n

At the heart of the X2D II 100C lies a 100MP BSI CMOS sensor with 16-bit colour depth (281 trillion colours), 15.3 stops of dynamic range, and a new base ISO of 50. To complement its high-resolution capture, Hasselblad has engineered a 5-axis, 10-stop in-body stabilisation system, offering up to eight times the stability of the original X2D. Photographers can now shoot handheld long exposures of several seconds without a tripod.<\/p>\n

Other refinements include 1TB of internal SSD storage, a CFexpress Type B slot, and a more compact build; 7.5% lighter than the previous generation. Its graphite grey matte finish, redesigned ergonomic grip, and tilting OLED screen (90\u00b0 up, 43\u00b0 down) enhance usability. A new 5D joystick and eight customisable buttons further streamline control.<\/p>\n

Alongside the camera, Hasselblad has introduced the XCD 2,8-4\/35-100E, a compact zoom lens covering wide-angle to medium telephoto focal lengths (28-76 mm full-frame equivalent).<\/p>\n

With a bright f\/2.8-4 aperture, advanced optical design (16 elements in 13 groups), and edge-to-edge clarity on a 100MP sensor, the lens delivers performance on par with Hasselblad\u2019s prime lineup.<\/p>\n

Its fast stepping motor enables precise autofocus, especially when paired with the X2D II 100C\u2019s AF-C system. The integrated leaf shutter allows full flash sync from 1\/4000s to 68 minutes, while control rings inspired by the XCD V Series add intuitive handling. Despite its capabilities, the lens measures only 138 mm and weighs just 894 g.<\/p>\n

Complementing the launch, Hasselblad also unveiled the Vandra Camera Backpack, designed to carry a Hasselblad body, two lenses, and accessories with a 20L capacity. Additionally, new 86 mm filters: UV, ND8, and CPL, expand creative options for photographers using the XCD 2,8-4\/35-100E.<\/p>\n
