Canon has unveiled three new video-focused products\u2014the EOS R50 V mirrorless camera, the compact PowerShot V1, and the RF-S14-30mm f\/4-6.3 IS STM PZ lens\u2014to expand its offerings for modern content creators. These additions to the EOS V and PowerShot V series aim to elevate the creative capabilities of vloggers, streamers, and filmmakers. \u201cThese innovations are designed to inspire and empower the new wave of video creators,\u201d said Andrew Koh, SVP of Canon Singapore.<\/p>\n

EOS R50 V and PowerShot V1: Built for Creativity and Portability<\/strong>
\nThe EOS R50 V comes with a 24.2MP APS-C sensor, similar to the Super 35mm sensors used in Canon\u2019s cinema lineup. Ideal for creators seeking greater control and versatility, it features a revamped button layout optimised for video, including a dedicated movie mode dial, livestream and colour profile buttons, and a built-in zoom lever compatible with Canon\u2019s new power zoom lens. It\u2019s also designed for vertical shooting, with a rotating display, side-mounted tripod socket, and intuitive grip layout.<\/p>\n

Canon PowerShot V1<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The PowerShot V1 marks Canon\u2019s first all-in-one compact camera built entirely for video. It\u2019s equipped with a large 1.4-inch, 22.3MP sensor roughly twice the size of conventional 1-inch sensors. It features a built-in 16-50mm equivalent lens (17-52mm for video). Lightweight and equipped with an internal cooling fan, the V1 is tailored for extended shooting sessions, from livestreams to short films.<\/p>\n

Video-Centric Features and Pro-Level Tools<\/strong>
\nBoth cameras are packed with creative tools: a Smooth Skin mode, 14 colour filters, Movie Digital IS for stabilisation, and Canon\u2019s advanced Dual Pixel CMOS AF II system. They support uncropped 4K 30p video, cropped 4K 60p, and slow motion up to Full HD 120p. The inclusion of 10-bit Canon Log 3 and support for RAW stills make these cameras suitable for post-production workflows.<\/p>\n

The EOS R50 V stands out further with Cinema EOS features like HDR PQ and HLG video recording, LUT support, XF-HEVC S \/ XF-AVC S formats, and visual aids such as false colour. It also offers 4K\/Full HD slow motion modes, time-lapse video, and 24-bit 4-channel audio input.<\/p>\n

The 3-mic noise reduction system ensures clean sound for interviews or live recordings. For livestreaming, users benefit from 4K 60p USB-C output and compatibility with Canon\u2019s Live Switcher app for multi-angle streaming.<\/p>\n

The PowerShot V1, blending the best of the PowerShot V10 and G7 X Mark III, now features better low-light performance (ISO up to 12,800), a built-in ND filter, and new Subject Tracking IS for improved stability. It\u2019s an ultra-portable powerhouse for on-the-go content creation.<\/p>\n

RF-S14-30mm Power Zoom Lens: Compact Versatility<\/strong>
\nRounding out the release is the RF-S14-30mm f\/4-6.3 IS STM PZ, Canon\u2019s first RF lens with built-in power zoom.<\/p>\n

Compact at just 6cm and 181g, it supports remote zoom control via Canon\u2019s Camera Connect app, making it perfect for gimbal use and vertical shooting. Its fixed length helps maintain balance during zoom, and its wide-angle 22.4mm view is ideal for vlogging.<\/p>\n

It also boasts up to 5 stops of optical stabilisation for stills and 5-axis Movie Digital IS when used with compatible cameras.<\/p>\n

The Canon EOS R50 V<\/a> will be available with the body-only version priced at $899, and a kit bundle that includes the new RF-S14-30mm f\/4-6.3 IS STM PZ lens priced at $1,199.<\/p>\n

The RF-S14-30mm lens will also be sold separately for $519 beginning in July 2025.<\/p>\n
