Earlier this month, Microsoft announced the arrival of mixed reality technology to Singapore and United Arab Emirates. With these new additions, HoloLens is now available in 41 markets around the world. Developers, creators, partners, and customers can now get their hands on this technology. A whole new world awaits!<\/span><\/p>\n

Blurring The Lines Between Virtual Reality And Reality<\/b><\/h2>\n

Microsoft HoloLens is the first self-contained, holographic computer. It enables users to engage with digital content, and interact with holograms in the world around them.<\/span><\/p>\n

Over the first few weeks of 2018, there were multiple applications of the HoloLens in all sorts of areas. Innovators in this field include Trimble, HP, Honeywell, and more.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"Workers<\/p>\n

Trimble Connect for HoloLens is a mixed-reality solution that combines models from multiple stakeholders, such as structural, mechanical, and electrical trade partners. This solution by Trimble provides for precise alignment of holographic data on a 1:1 scale on the job site. Imagine being able to adjust your construction project right at the location itself!<\/span><\/p>\n

\"HP<\/p>\n

Next, the HP Windows Mixed Reality Headset (Professional Edition) enhances the way work is done for various professional industries, like engineering, product development, architecture, and more. Just like the consumer edition, this headset delivers 1440×1440 resolution per eye, and up to a 90Hz refresh rate. For businesses, this headset is the perfect combination of comfort and convenience, as it comes with easy to clean, replaceable face cushions.<\/span><\/p>\n

Last but not least, Honeywell Process Solutions announced a cloud-based simulation tool named Honeywell Connected Plant Skills Insight Immersive Competency. This new offering uses mixed reality to train plant personnel on critical work activities. Immersive Competency will bring new industrial workers up\u2013to\u2013speed quickly by enhancing training and delivering it in new and contemporary ways.<\/span><\/p>\n
