Instagram feed going a little stale? Fret not because with Canon\u2019s newest invention, taking great photos on the go has never been easier. Being an avid photographer, I love capturing all the wonderful experiences and places I come across. Memories fade but photographs last forever, right?<\/p>\n
However, my greatest grievance is that I often miss out on great shots because I did not pack my camera. Let\u2019s be honest, it\u2019s hard to tell when you will come across Instagram-worthy backdrops and my old EOS 600D was not the most portable.<\/p>\n
But, that all changed with Canon\u2019s EOS R50. At first glance, I fell in love with its stylish, sleek and compact design. Weighing only 375g, it fit snugly into my handbag and was easy to carry around. Furthermore, its pre-calibrated modes helped me snap the perfect picture, always.<\/p>\n

Having just ended my exams, I decided to take some time to unwind and brought the EOS R50 out for a spin. My first order of the day was my regular morning run at the MacRitchie reservoir. Constructed in 1867, it is one of the 4 reservoirs in Singapore that is located within a nature reserve. It houses 5 different hiking trails of differing difficulty levels and is home to the iconic tree top walk. Today, I opted for the Prunus-Petail trail which took me along a 2km boardwalk journey around the reservoir. There is just something about being by the water that melts my stresses away. I had a glorious time admiring the scenery and took advantage of EOS R50\u2019s Panoramic Scene Feature to capture some of nature\u2019s beauty.<\/p>\n Eager to play with the camera\u2019s different functions, I tried out the landscape mode as well.<\/p>\n My next pit stop was the library at Orchard Central. Housed in the centre of town, it is the first double-storey library located within a mall and offers a reprieve from the hustle and bustle of the city. Being an avid reader, I am always on the look for my next read and this outlet offers a huge variety of books. It is also one of the most stylish and was awarded Design of the Year under the President\u2019s Design Award Singapore 2015.<\/p>\n I snapped this photo using the landscape mode which beautifully captured the artistic curves with high image quality even under low-light conditions.<\/p>\n Since I had some spare time, I opted to walk to my next destination. Being a city girl, I love the energetic vibe of the city and the thronging crowds. As I ambled along the streets, I once again used the Panoramic Scene Feature to capture this iconic scene.<\/p>\n I even got to catch the gorgeous sunset which I quickly snapped with the Advanced A+ feature which beautifully captured the contrasting hues and colours by compiling multiple images into one.<\/p>\n As a vlogger, this camera was a game-changer. Capturing my experiences has never been so easy and I did not even need a tripod stand! The footage was clear and level due to its shake correction feature that stabilised the videos. Another of its key features is its intelligent focus, which detects and tracks people, animals, and vehicles.
