<\/p>\nThe Canon EOS 200D is immediately likeable, and it\u2019s not only because of its colour, which is white (or silver, if that tickles your fancy). Granted that it may be a victim of accidental smudges due to this, the colour sets it apart from competitors. It is also one of Canon\u2019s smallest DSLRs. Tipping the scales at about 406g (body only), this compact and sleek entry-level DSLR is suitable for individuals who are exploring the world of DSLRs. It even has a selfie mode and a guided mode that will help complete beginners understand how the camera works.<\/p>\n

The 200D is a breeze to hold. It\u2019s ergonomically designed and fits comfortably in smaller hands. With the bundled 18-55mm f\/4-5.6 zoom lens, the weight of the camera is highly manageable, thanks to the generous size of the handgrip. The top-mounted controls are well-positioned and are within easy reach of the fingers. They comprise a combined on-off switch with a dedicated movie mode, an exposure mode dial, and a control dial just behind the shutter release, which now comes in a PowerShot-style metal finish. Also included for convenience are dedicated one-touch ISO, display and Wi-Fi buttons.<\/p>\n
Despite being an entry-level DSLR, the 200D is driven by powerful imaging technology, thanks to a high-resolution, 24.2-megapixel APS-C size CMOS sensor and the latest DIGIC 7 image processor. The latter helps to push the standard ISO up, and together with the former, the 200D is capable of shooting from ISO 100-25,600, with reduced motion blur at slower shutter speeds and improved image quality at low and medium ISOs. With a high 24-megapixel count, you also have the option of cropping images without adversely affecting image quality.<\/p>\n
The 200D has an impressive start up time of 0.2 seconds, a continuous shooting speed of up to 5 frames per second as well as fast autofocusing with the Dual Pixel CMOS AF \u2013 great for snapping accurate action shots. The small built-in flash is nicely flush against the body when not in use and pops up when needed.<\/p>\n
It is heartening to note that Canon has not skimped on the display, despite it being an entry-level camera \u2013 the 3-inch vari-angle touch screen LCD monitor helps you take pictures from a variety of angles, and the autofocus speed in this mode is decent as well.<\/p>\n
