I\u2019ve never been the kind of person to wear a watch, primarily because I\u2019ve not come across one that appeals to me enough to put on everyday. I mean, if I simply wanted to know the time, I could just glance at my phone, right? However, with smartwatches available in the market right now, I might just change my mind! With so many options to choose from, I didn\u2019t know where to start, until now\u2026<\/p>\n

The Huawei WATCH GT 2<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Recently, thanks to NXT, I\u2019ve been given the opportunity to test the new Huawei Watch GT 2. The Watch GT 2 has everything its predecessor, the Watch GT, had, and more. What really separates the Watch GT2 from the Watch GT is the element of choice. The Watch GT 2 comes in two models, the 46mm model and the smaller 42mm model. The 46mm model is larger as it incorporates a bezel around the face of the watch. It also comes with a built in speaker, full phone call functionality when connected to your phone, stress-tracking, as well as storage for offline music.<\/p>\n

\"Averyl<\/p>\n

Sleek and Elegant Design<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Despite the lack of some functions in the 42mm model, it still really caught my eye. I decided to try the smaller 42mm model as I felt it looked more dainty, and suited my small wrists better. The elegant and classic design really showcased the fine craftsmanship that was put into making this watch. It blended perfectly with most of the outfits I wear on a daily basis and accessorized my look too! I tested the 42mm model of the Watch GT 2 for two weeks and the results were quite surprising.<\/p>\n

\"Averyl<\/p>\n

Key Functions<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The first thing I noticed after the two weeks was how long the battery of the Watch GT 2 lasted. With Huawei\u2019s self-developed wearable chip, the Kirin A1, the watch boasts an astounding battery life of 2 whole weeks. Because of this, I did not need to take off the watch to charge at all. I was able to keep the watch on night and day, and this complemented the other features the Watch GT 2 offers. One of the many notable features is the TrueRelax function, which helps with pressure monitoring.<\/p>\n

\"Averyl<\/p>\n

Personally, my favourite function is the ability to monitor my sleep. I\u2019ve always wanted to know the quality of sleep I was getting at night, and now I am able to do so with the TrueSleep function. The watch monitors your heart rate, analyses your breathing and awards a score on your overall sleep quality. It is also able to diagnose 6 common types of sleep issues and provide suggestions for a better rest. It can also differentiate the kinds of sleep you are getting each night, such as deep sleep, light sleep, and rapid eye movement. After analysing your sleep quality, it gives you suggestions on how to improve it.<\/p>\n

However, over the course of the two weeks, I noticed that I was unable to fully utilise the available functions of this watch. I use an iPhone, but unfortunately, the Watch GT 2 works better with an android system compared to iOS systems. iOS systems are unable to support features such as all-day stress monitoring, and Intelligent Assistant\u2019s \u201cfind your phone\u201d and \u201cmusic player\u201d. Ultimately, the lack of these functions did not really affect me.<\/p>\n

Is it worth it?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

All in all, I feel that the Huawei Watch GT 2 is a sleek watch with an abundance of helpful functions. It is definitely a watch I foresee myself wearing in the long run. Retailing at $268 on Lazada<\/a>, it\u2019s significantly cheaper than some other smartwatch options.
