Starting with\u00a0<em>Modern Warfare<\/em>, Activision will be:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<li>Introducing crossplay to unite the community across platforms for the first time.<\/li>\n<li>Removing Season Pass and a la carte DLC multiplayer map packs to ensure everyone can play together.<\/li>\n<li>Delivering free post-launch multiplayer maps and modes for all players.<\/li>\n<li>Releasing post-launch multiplayer maps and modes simultaneously on all platforms.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-10771\" src=\"https:\/\/nxtmag.tech\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/call-of-duty-modern-warfare.jpg\" alt=\"Call of Duty: Modern Warfare splash image\" width=\"900\" height=\"506\" srcset=\"https:\/\/nxtmag.tech\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/call-of-duty-modern-warfare.jpg 900w, https:\/\/nxtmag.tech\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/call-of-duty-modern-warfare-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/nxtmag.tech\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/call-of-duty-modern-warfare-768x432.jpg 768w, https:\/\/nxtmag.tech\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/call-of-duty-modern-warfare-696x391.jpg 696w, https:\/\/nxtmag.tech\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/call-of-duty-modern-warfare-747x420.jpg 747w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px\" \/><\/h3>\n<h3><strong>What About Loot Boxes?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">More importantly, Activision has also addressed the basics for the in-game economy coming in <em>Modern Warfare<\/em>, which everyone is asking about.<\/p>\n<ul style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<li>A new Battle Pass system, not a loot box system.<\/li>\n<li>All functional content that has an impact on game balance, such as base weapons and attachments, can be unlocked simply by playing the game.<\/li>\n<li>The new Battle Pass system will allow players to see the content that they are earning or buying.\u00a0 Battle Passes will launch timed to new, post-launch live seasons, so you can unlock cool new\u00a0<em>Modern Warfare<\/em>-themed content that matches each season.<\/li>\n<li>With the new Battle Pass system, players will be able to earn COD Points by playing the game.<\/li>\n<li>There will be both a Free Stream and a Premium Stream of content in the Battle Pass System in\u00a0<em>Modern Warfare<\/em>. New base weapons will be earned through gameplay, simply by playing\u00a0<em>Modern Warfare<\/em>. Functional attachments for base weapons can be unlocked through gameplay as well just like in the game\u2019s Beta.<\/li>\n<li>The Battle Pass and the In-Game Store will feature a variety of cosmetic content that does not impact game balance.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Battle Pass System for\u00a0<em>Modern Warfare<\/em> will not launch when the game releases on 25 October. This is so that everyone who is playing <em>Modern Warfare<\/em> has the chance to work their way through the new game and unlock all the rewards.
