<\/p>\nThe Cyber Security Agency of Singapore (CSA) launched its third National Cybersecurity Awareness Campaign today with a launch event \u201cGo Safe Online 2019 C.A.F.E. (Cybersecurity Awareness for Everyone)\u201d at Ang Mo Kio Central Stage.<\/p>\n

CSA\u2019s third National Cybersecurity Awareness Campaign, organised in collaboration with the Cyber Security Awareness Alliance, has expanded since its inception in 2017. This year\u2019s campaign will see the number of roadshows ramped up from one to four, with the next roadshow to be held in Our Tampines Hub on 23 to 24 November 2019. This will be followed by two roadshows held at educational institutions early next year. The expanded campaign marks CSA\u2019s continued efforts to bring cybersecurity awareness to the community and provide an avenue for members of the public to pick up cybersecurity tips and get face-to-face advice from cyber champions onsite.<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s campaign builds on the momentum from past years and continues to encourage the adoption of good cybersecurity habits such as using strong passwords, enabling Two-Factor Authentication (2FA), spotting signs of phishing, updating software promptly; and installing anti-virus software. A series of four campaign videos as well as print and online adaptions are making its rounds on social media, in addition to out-of-home platforms including clinics, lift doors, buses, bus shelters and MRT stations.<\/p>\n
The findings from CSA\u2019s 2018 annual public awareness survey showed that while majority (78%) of 1,105 respondents agreed that all Singaporeans have a role to play in ensuring cybersecurity, many respondents do not take any steps to enhance their cybersecurity posture as they felt that they would not fall prey to cyber criminals. With this in mind, the focus of this year\u2019s campaign centres on personal losses that can result from poor cyber hygiene, such as the loss of our valuable financial details, sensitive data and even loss of control over our digital lives.<\/p>\n

Held on 14 and 15 September at Ang Mo Kio Central Stage, the event is the first in a series of four roadshows aimed at encouraging the adoption of cybersecurity measures in a fun and engaging way. The event features three interactive activities that visitors can engage in. At the start of their experience, visitors will be handed a journey card for them to collect a stamp at each of the three activity stations. They are:<\/p>\n
1) \u2018Block the Viruses\u2019 game <\/i><\/p>\n
Malware infections can harm one\u2019s devices. Players can see how fast they can kill viruses, update their apps and install anti-virus in this fast-paced game.<\/p>\n
2) \u2018Spot Signs of Phishing\u2019 game <\/i><\/p>\n
Players have to identify real versus phishing emails or websites by looking out for the tell-tale signs of phishing.<\/p>\n
3) \u2018Password Journey\u2019 <\/i><\/p>\n
The public will learn how to create a strong and memorable password and redeem a snack or drink in the process.<\/p>\n
