HONOR Unveils Robot Phone, Redefining Mobile Filmmaking with Embodied AI

Global technology brand HONOR has officially introduced the groundbreaking HONOR Robot Phone, a category-defining device that combines robotic engineering, professional-grade imaging and advanced AI into a smartphone unlike any other.

Featuring the world’s first fully integrated 4-DoF mechanical gimbal system, AI-powered motion control and imaging technologies developed in collaboration with ARRI, the Robot Phone opens a new chapter in cinematic mobile content creation and embodied AI experiences.

A Smartphone with Built-In Robotic Camera Movement
At the heart of the HONOR Robot Phone is the industry’s first 4-DoF Titanium Agile Gimbal, a compact robotic camera system seamlessly integrated into the device’s premium design. Constructed using more than 100 precision components across 60 manufacturing processes and backed by over 100 patents, the system delivers exceptional stability and movement while remaining remarkably compact.

Compared to conventional smartphone gimbals, HONOR has reduced the overall size of the mechanism by 65% while increasing structural strength by 200%. The lightweight 2.6g titanium gimbal motor supports movement speeds of up to 360 degrees per second, while the HONOR Super Steel Flip Motor delivers torque density of 120 N·m/L, enabling precise camera positioning and smooth cinematic motion within a pocket-sized device.

Bringing Professional Cinema Workflows to Smartphones
The HONOR Robot Phone marks the first commercial product born from the HONOR-ARRI Cinematic Imaging Partnership. Rather than offering simple filters, the collaboration adapts selected elements of ARRI’s renowned image science and professional production workflows into a mobile device.

Its advanced camera system includes a Dual 200MP setup, comprising a 200MP Agile Gimbal Main Camera with a large 1/1.28-inch sensor and f/1.6 aperture, alongside a 200MP Periscope Telephoto Camera featuring a 1/1.4-inch sensor and 2.7x optical zoom. Completing the system is a 50MP ultra-wide camera with a 122-degree field of view.

The main camera supports 10-bit ARRI LogC3 recording in ARRI CINEMA mode, while ARRI Wide Gamut 3 and ARRI Looks bring professional colour science directly to mobile creators. Powered by the HONOR H1 Image Chip, AI noise reduction improves video signal-to-noise ratio by 8dB, while AI dynamic range optimisation enables up to 14 stops of dynamic range.

HONOR’s imaging pipeline processes video data in the RAW domain and maintains 14-bit 4:4:4 processing before outputting 10-bit LogC3 and 4:2:2 video, preserving greater detail for post-production workflows. Creators can also preview ARRI Looks in real time and import footage directly into professional editing software such as DaVinci Resolve using ARRI LUTs.

HONOR revealed that technologies developed through its partnership with ARRI will continue to evolve and appear in future products, including the upcoming HONOR Magic9 Series.

Embodied AI Turns the Smartphone into a Personal Camera Crew
Running on MagicOS, the HONOR Robot Phone introduces a new level of multimodal interaction through YOYO Robot Mode. Combining contextual understanding, gesture recognition, voice localisation and physical movement, the device transforms into an autonomous filming assistant.

The robotic camera arm supports cinematic movement modes such as Tilt Lock, First Person View (FPV), FPV Vertical and AI SpinShot, allowing creators to capture smooth and dynamic footage effortlessly. AI Subject Tracking keeps users perfectly framed during vlogs, live streams and video calls, while gesture controls enable hands-free camera operation.

Beyond photography and videography, YOYO Auto Execution enables system-level AI to understand user intent and complete multi-step tasks across applications and settings. HONOR is also opening its Agent Skills interface to third-party developers, allowing new experiences to be built around the Robot Phone’s gimbal, AI perception and embodied interaction capabilities.

Flagship Performance and Premium Design
Powering the Robot Phone is the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Mobile Platform, delivering high-performance computing for AI, imaging and multitasking. A custom thermal management system ensures sustained performance even during intensive recording sessions.

The device is equipped with a large 7,060mAh silicon-carbon battery, supported by 120W wired and 50W wireless HONOR SuperCharge technologies for all-day usage.

The Robot Phone also features an Android-first integrated metal unibody design with elegant R3 curved edges. Its 6.31-inch LTPO OLED display supports adaptive refresh rates from 1Hz to 120Hz and reaches an impressive peak brightness of 6,800 nits. Eye comfort technologies, including 4320Hz PWM dimming and HONOR NanoCrystal Shield protection, provide both durability and comfortable long-term viewing.

From Global Showcase to Commercial Launch
First unveiled at Mobile World Congress 2026, the HONOR Robot Phone later demonstrated its capabilities through cinematic showcases at events such as the Cannes Film Festival’s China Night and the Shanghai International Film Festival.

Now entering commercial availability, the device aims to bring professional filmmaking tools and embodied AI experiences to creators around the world.
