Following their global debut at HIGH END Vienna 2026 during JBL’s 80th anniversary celebrations, the all-new JBL Summit Everest and JBL Summit K2 have officially arrived in the Asia-Pacific region with their showcase at StereoNET Asia 2026, presented by Sound Gallery by IMS.
Representing the next generation of two of JBL’s most iconic loudspeakers, Summit Everest and Summit K2 join the existing Summit Makalu, Summit Pumori and Summit Ama to complete the five-model JBL Summit Series, the brand’s most advanced collection of residential loudspeakers to date. The Summit Series also marks only the fifth “Project” loudspeaker family in JBL’s 80-year history, a designation reserved for the company’s most groundbreaking acoustic innovations.
“For 80 years, JBL has been defined by an uncompromising pursuit of acoustic excellence, and the Project loudspeakers have always represented the absolute summit of that pursuit,” said David Tovissi, Vice President & General Manager, HARMAN Luxury Audio. “With Summit Everest and Summit K2, we honour four generations of legendary engineering while introducing technologies that push the boundaries of high-fidelity audio. These are reference loudspeakers designed for listeners who demand the very best.”
Continuing JBL’s Legendary “Project” Heritage
The prestigious “Project” designation has been reserved for only a handful of JBL loudspeakers since the introduction of the Project Hartsfield in 1954, followed by the Project Paragon, Project Everest and Project K2. Each generation marked a significant leap in loudspeaker engineering through advances in transducer technology, enclosure design and acoustic performance.

For nearly four decades, Project Everest and Project K2 have served as reference points in high-end audio. The new Summit Everest and Summit K2 continue that legacy, integrating patented technologies developed at JBL’s renowned Acoustic Centre of Excellence in Northridge, California.
JBL Summit Everest
Named after the world’s highest mountain, the Summit Everest stands as the flagship of the Summit Series and succeeds four generations of Project Everest loudspeakers.

Its newly developed mid- and high-frequency system combines three patented JBL D2820 2-inch dual-diaphragm, dual-motor compression drivers with a patent-pending 3-into-1 expansion manifold and a custom large-format Sonoglass® High-Definition Imaging (HDI™) horn.

The low-frequency section features dual 10-inch Differential Drive mid-bass drivers and dual 15-inch Differential Drive woofers, all built with JBL’s Hybrid Carbon Cellulose Composite Cone (HC4) technology for greater rigidity, lower distortion and exceptional power handling.

The result is a 3.5-way floorstanding loudspeaker capable of delivering deep bass down to 20Hz, extended high frequencies beyond 23kHz, and remarkable dynamic range, tonal accuracy and spatial realism.
JBL Summit K2
Inspired by the world’s second-highest mountain, the Summit K2 builds upon four generations of Project K2 development and represents JBL’s most accomplished 15-inch three-way floorstanding loudspeaker.

It incorporates three patented JBL D2815 1.5-inch dual-diaphragm compression drivers paired with the same patent-pending 3-into-1 expansion manifold and Sonoglass® HDI™ horn technology.

Supporting the system are a 10-inch Differential Drive mid-bass driver and a 15-inch Differential Drive woofer, both utilising HC4 cone technology to deliver improved clarity, transparency and tonal precision while preserving the dynamic musical character that has defined the K2 series since 1989.
Built Around the Summit Standard
Both flagship models share the advanced technologies that define the Summit Series.
A new MultiCap™ crossover network replaces conventional large capacitors with multiple smaller capacitors to reduce energy loss, improve signal transfer, increase power handling and minimise distortion. The crossover also supports single-wire, bi-wire/bi-amp and tri-wire/tri-amp configurations for greater system flexibility.
The enclosures feature internally offset, multi-braced and damped curved-wall construction to reduce internal resonances and standing waves. JBL also equips both speakers with custom IsoAcoustics® isolation feet that help decouple the cabinets from the floor, improving bass performance, soundstage width and imaging precision.
Premium Design Meets Reference Performance
Reflecting their flagship status, the Summit Everest and Summit K2 are available in two luxurious finishes:
High-gloss Black with Summit Platinum accents
High-gloss Macassar Ebony wood veneer with Summit Gold detailing
Additional premium touches include rhodium-plated carbon fibre-wrapped binding posts, Ohno Continuous Cast (OCC) silver-plated oxygen-free copper internal wiring and sustainably sourced engineered wood cabinetry.
Designed to impress both visually and sonically, the Summit Everest and Summit K2 embody JBL’s highest standards of engineering, craftsmanship and acoustic performance.
