To celebrate its 20th anniversary, avant-garde watchmaker MB&F (Maximilian Büsser & Friends) is giving back to the communities that helped define its success — quite literally.
The brand has announced an unprecedented raffle giveaway of 20 remarkable anniversary edition watches, embodying both its experimental spirit and gratitude to its loyal fans.
“Fortune Favours the Bold” — A Tribute to Two Decades of Creativity
In an act of generosity rare in the world of haute horlogerie, MB&F will raffle off 20 unique watches — 10 LM101 Longhorn 20th Anniversary pieces and 10 M.A.D.1S 20th Anniversary pieces — to members of its global fanbase. The raffles, taking place in October, will be overseen by a bailiff to ensure fairness.
The initiative honours two groups of enthusiasts who have long supported the brand: The Tribe, MB&F’s family of watch owners, and the broader community of fans who have taken part in past M.A.D.Editions raffles.
LM101 Longhorn 20th Anniversary: A Compact Masterpiece with Character
First launched in 2014, the Legacy Machine 101 (LM101) remains one of MB&F’s most intimate creations, with a 40mm stainless steel case that houses an exquisite, three-dimensional movement developed alongside independent watchmaker Kari Voutilainen.
The new Longhorn 20th Anniversary Edition continues the legacy of innovation and fine craftsmanship. It features a sunburst rhodium-plated dial, contrasting black sub-dials, and blued hands, complemented by long, sculpted lugs — or “horns” — that give the watch its name. The back sapphire crystal bears a special silver engraving: “Fortune Favours the Bold”.
Under the hood, the manual-winding calibre offers a 45-hour power reserve, a 14mm balance wheel with a Straumann double hairspring, and meticulous hand finishing that evokes the artistry of 19th-century watchmaking.
M.A.D.1S 20th Anniversary: A Playful Spin on Mechanical Art
The M.A.D.1S 20th Anniversary Edition represents the evolution of MB&F’s experimental offshoot, M.A.D.Editions — a venture that began in 2021 as a token of appreciation for the brand’s friends and collectors and has since grown into a phenomenon of its own.
This new piece features a 42mm stainless steel case and a La Joux-Perret G101 automatic movement, with a lateral time display through a revolving cylinder — a signature of the M.A.D.1 series. For the first time, Roman numerals adorn the time display, while a blue ring under the bezel mirrors the LM101’s aesthetic. Like its sibling, the case back bears the engraving “Fortune Favours the Bold.”
With a 68-hour power reserve and a refined light brown leather strap, the M.A.D.1S anniversary edition strikes a perfect balance between futuristic design and timeless charm.
