Sony Expands Home Entertainment with BRAVIA Theatre Audio Lineup and BRAVIA 3 II TV

Under its “Cinema is Coming Home” vision, Sony has introduced a new range of home audio products alongside the BRAVIA 3 II TV, offering more ways than ever to recreate a cinematic experience at home. The refreshed BRAVIA Theatre lineup features the BRAVIA Theatre Bar 7 and BRAVIA Theatre Bar 5 soundbars, supported by optional additions such as the Theatre Sub 9, Sub 8, and Rear 9 speakers.

Together, these products are engineered to deliver a wider, more immersive surround sound field for deeper cinematic impact. Complementing the audio lineup, the BRAVIA 3 II is a mid-tier TV available in sizes up to 100 inches, designed to bring big-screen entertainment into the home.

Soundbars That Fill the Room
The BRAVIA Theatre Bar 7 combines a compact form factor with powerful performance, featuring nine speaker units, including dedicated up-firing and side speakers that expand the soundstage. Powered by Sony’s 360 Spatial Sound Mapping technology, it creates immersive, cinema-style surround sound from a single soundbar, enhanced by room calibration for optimised audio. Users can further elevate their setup with optional subwoofers and rear speakers, unlocking deeper bass and fuller surround sound—while also supporting IMAX Enhanced content. This makes it an ideal premium entry point for users seeking high-quality home audio.

Meanwhile, the BRAVIA Theatre Bar 5 offers a 3.1-channel system paired with a wireless subwoofer, delivering strong bass, clear dialogue, and excellent value. With technologies like S-Force PRO Front Surround, Vertical Surround Engine, and Sony’s proprietary upmixer, it produces an enveloping three-dimensional audio experience suited for both movies and TV content.

Both soundbars support Dolby Atmos® and DTS: X®, and can be seamlessly paired with compatible BRAVIA TVs for integrated control via the TV interface. Features like Voice Zoom 3™ enhance dialogue clarity, while the BRAVIA Connect app allows users to adjust volume, sound profiles, and advanced settings directly from their smartphones. Setup is straightforward, with accessibility-focused design elements built in.

Expanding the Surround Experience
To complete the home cinema setup, Sony’s latest subwoofers and rear speakers are designed to work seamlessly with the BRAVIA Theatre range.

BRAVIA Theatre Sub 8

The BRAVIA Theatre Sub 9 and Sub 8 deliver deep, powerful bass through large driver units, with dual subwoofer support introduced in the series.

BRAVIA Theatre Sub 9

The Sub 9 features dual opposing 200mm drivers that minimise vibration and distortion while extending into ultra-low frequencies, while the Sub 8 offers similarly deep bass performance with a single 200mm driver.

BRAVIA Theatre Rear 9

The BRAVIA Theatre Rear 9 speakers enhance rear-channel performance with 80mm up-firing drivers, creating a more immersive 360 Spatial Sound experience by generating multiple phantom speakers for a fuller surround effect.

BRAVIA 3 II: Big Screen, Smarter Viewing
Alongside the audio lineup, Sony is expanding its TV portfolio with the BRAVIA 3 II. Powered by the XR Processor and XR Triluminos Pro, the TV delivers a wide colour gamut, natural colour reproduction, rich contrast, and refined detail. Developed in collaboration with MediaTek Inc., it combines Sony’s image processing with advanced hardware to reduce noise and produce finely detailed visuals.

Supporting Dolby Vision®, Dolby Atmos®, and DTS: X®, the BRAVIA 3 II ensures both picture and sound are optimised for cinematic content. It also caters to gamers with 4K 120Hz support and four HDMI 2.1 ports for smooth, responsive gameplay.

To improve accessibility, the TV introduces a newly designed Inclusive Remote Control featuring optimised button layouts, distinct shapes, and improved spacing for easier tactile navigation. A Remote Finder function also helps users quickly locate the remote—particularly useful for those with visual impairments.
