Apple today introduced a new family of displays — the updated Studio Display and the all-new Studio Display XDR — engineered to pair beautifully with Mac and to meet the needs of everyone from everyday users to the world’s top professionals.
The refreshed Studio Display brings a 12MP Centre Stage camera (now with Desk View), a studio-quality three-microphone array, an immersive six-speaker sound system with Spatial Audio, and Thunderbolt 5 connectivity for more downstream accessories or daisy-chaining.

The Studio Display XDR raises the bar for pro screens with a 27-inch 5K Retina XDR display that uses an advanced mini-LED backlight with thousands of local dimming zones, offers up to 1,000 nits of SDR brightness and up to 2,000 nits of peak HDR brightness, and adds a 120Hz refresh rate with Adaptive Sync for ultra-smooth motion.
Studio Display — a versatile companion for Mac
The new Studio Display is a 27-inch 5K Retina display with over 14 million pixels, 600 nits of brightness, and P3 wide colour that suits photographers, designers, musicians and everyday users alike. It now includes a 12MP Centre Stage camera with Desk View to show both the user and a top-down view of their workspace, a three-microphone array for clearer voice capture, and a six-speaker system with four force-cancelling woofers delivering noticeably deeper bass.

Thunderbolt 5 connectivity with two ports enables daisy-chaining up to four Studio Displays or connecting high-speed accessories, and two additional USB-C ports support peripherals and charging; the included Thunderbolt 5 Pro cable can provide up to 96W of charging power. The Studio Display ships with a tilt-adjustable stand and is available with standard or optional nano-texture glass.
Studio Display XDR — the world’s best pro display
Studio Display XDR is designed for demanding pro workflows such as HDR grading, 3D rendering and high-end post production. The 27-inch 5K Retina XDR panel uses a mini-LED backlight with 2,304 local dimming zones to deliver a 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio, superb black levels, and minimal haloing.

With 2,000 nits peak HDR brightness, support for both P3 and Adobe RGB gamuts (and more than 80% Rec. 2020 coverage for HDR), and a 120Hz refresh rate with Adaptive Sync, the XDR model makes HDR content sing and keeps motion—from video playback to games and interactive 3D—feeling fluid and responsive. Studio Display XDR also includes the same advanced camera and audio system as Studio Display and expands connectivity with two Thunderbolt 5 ports plus two USB-C ports, and it can deliver up to 140W of charging via the included Thunderbolt 5 Pro cable.
Pro workflow benefits and technical highlights
Both displays are built to streamline professional setups. Studio Display XDR’s wider colour support (P3 + Adobe RGB), combined with its high peak brightness and dense local dimming, makes it a strong reference option for colourists and print professionals who must switch between colour spaces without losing fidelity.

The 120Hz refresh rate and Adaptive Sync reduce latency and stutter in motion-heavy timelines or interactive previews. For studios and creators who need a clutter-free desk, the displays’ Thunderbolt 5 hub capabilities and generous charging power help consolidate peripherals while supporting daisy-chained displays that add up to nearly 60 million pixels in multi-display configurations.
Design, stands, sustainability and pricing.
Studio Display ships with a tilt-adjustable stand, while Studio Display XDR includes a sophisticated tilt- and height-adjustable stand with a 105mm height range and a counter-balancing arm; both models offer a VESA mount option for custom rigs.

Apple designed the new Studio Display family with recycled materials and repairability in mind: both displays use recycled aluminium in the stand and recycled glass in the standard glass option, and packaging is fully fibre-based for easier recycling.
Pricing in Singapore starts at S$2,199 for Studio Display (S$2,059 for education) and S$4,499 for Studio Display XDR (S$4,359 for education), with pre-orders opening March 9.
