OMEGA begins 2026 with a striking reinterpretation of one of the most recognisable chronographs ever created. The new Speedmaster Moonwatch in Black and White takes a familiar icon and turns it inside out, offering a fresh perspective while staying true to the DNA that made the Moonwatch legendary.
A classic, inverted
The biggest highlight is the reversed dial configuration. Instead of the traditional black dial with contrasting subdials, OMEGA introduces an inverted aesthetic that feels modern, bold and surprisingly wearable.

The dial is crafted using a double-plate construction. The upper plate is polished black with a lacquered finish that creates a deep, mirror-like sheen. Beneath it, the subdials reveal a white base layer, also lacquered for a refined and luxurious effect. The result is a high-contrast look that enhances both legibility and visual depth.

This construction not only adds a strong design statement but also reflects OMEGA’s continued focus on craftsmanship. The detail and finishing elevate the Moonwatch beyond a simple colour refresh.
Despite the bold dial, the watch remains rooted in the Speedmaster’s heritage. The 42mm case retains the classic Moonwatch proportions, ensuring the same wrist presence that collectors have trusted for decades.

The ceramic bezel features the tachymeter scale in white enamel, reinforcing the high-contrast theme. The box-shaped sapphire crystal adds a vintage touch while improving durability and clarity.
What I particularly appreciate is how this version manages to feel contemporary without losing its connection to the past. It is instantly recognisable as a Moonwatch, yet it offers something different enough to excite long-time collectors.
Two interpretations of luxury
OMEGA offers the new models in two distinct personalities. The stainless steel version feels sporty and versatile, perfect for everyday wear. Rhodium-plated hands and hour markers, paired with white Super-LumiNova, maintain the clean monochrome look.

The second option is crafted in 18K Moonshine Gold, OMEGA’s proprietary yellow gold alloy designed to retain its colour over time. This version adds warmth and presence, with gold hands, markers and chronograph details that contrast beautifully against the black and white dial.
Both versions are paired with the brand’s polished and brushed Moonwatch bracelet, which includes a patented comfort release system for easy micro-adjustments.
Powered by space-age precision
Inside, both watches are driven by the Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 3861. This movement represents the most advanced evolution of the original Calibre 321, the same family of chronographs trusted by NASA astronauts during the Apollo missions.

The movement offers exceptional accuracy, magnetic resistance and reliability, and comes with Master Chronometer certification. It also includes a five-year warranty, reflecting OMEGA’s confidence in its engineering.

Turn the watch over, and the sapphire caseback reveals the intricate architecture of the movement. It is a reminder that beneath the modern design lies a deeply technical heart.
A fresh chapter for the Moonwatch
What makes this launch compelling is how it demonstrates OMEGA’s approach to evolution. Instead of dramatically redesigning the Speedmaster, the brand continues to refine and reinterpret it in ways that feel meaningful.
