Audio-Technica has introduced its new flagship open-air dynamic headphones, the ATH-ADX7000, engineered to deliver an exceptionally pure, natural and detailed listening experience. Designed and constructed in Japan, the ADX7000 brings together more than six decades of transducer craftsmanship with breakthrough driver technology, premium materials and featherlight ergonomics.
Pushing the Limits of Open-Air Sound
At the heart of the ATH-ADX7000 is Audio-Technica’s newly developed High-Concentricity X (Transfer) Dynamic Transducer (HXDT), a proprietary precision-moulding process that tightens concentricity tolerances to within ±0.02 mm — nearly ten times more precise than conventional standards. This highly accurate alignment ensures cleaner vibration transfer, superior transient response and more consistent performance across units.

Supporting this is Audio-Technica’s True Open-Air Audio design approach, which allows air to flow freely through an open-back honeycomb housing.

By reducing internal pressure and resonance, this architecture produces a transparent, spacious and fatigue-free soundstage. Deep bass is achieved naturally without artificial boosting, while the diaphragm alone drives the sound for an authentic, uncoloured presentation.
A Sound Signature Built on Clarity and Natural Dynamics
Listeners can expect a sound signature defined by clarity, openness and natural dynamics. The bass is full and controlled, the midrange smooth and detailed, and the treble refined without harshness.

Instruments and vocals are delivered with lifelike presence and accurate spatial definition, supported by natural decay and three-dimensional layering. Instead of sharp artificial emphasis, detail emerges organically from the depth and structure of the music.
Lightweight Engineering for All-Day Comfort
Despite its technical sophistication, the ATH-ADX7000 weighs just 275 g (or 270 g with Alcantara earpads).

This remarkable lightness is achieved through a honeycomb aluminium housing and magnesium die-cast frame, chosen for their strength, rigidity and excellent vibration-damping properties.

The honeycomb mesh is formed through a two-step shaping and precision-punching process to maximise airflow and enhance the open-air acoustic performance.
For added versatility, the ADX7000 includes two earpad options:
● High-density velvet, selected for acoustic filtering and breathability
● Alcantara, offering a more luxurious feel and subtly different tonal characteristics
Premium Accessories and Build
Inside the box, users will find:
● A balanced XLR cable (3.0 m)
● An unbalanced 6.3 mm stereo cable (3.0 m)
● Neutrik connectors with gold-tipped A2DC terminals
● A compact hard storage case

The headphone also features an upgraded 490-ohm voice coil, delivering stronger mechanical force, faster transients and expanded dynamic range — ideal for pairing with high-quality amplifiers.
