Hublot and Daniel Arsham Unveil the MP-17 Meca-10 Arsham Splash Titanium Sapphire

Hublot has once again redefined the boundaries of horological design with the launch of the MP-17 Meca-10 Arsham Splash Titanium Sapphire, its latest collaboration with celebrated American artist Daniel Arsham. Following the success of the MP-16 Arsham Droplet, this new creation marks the artist’s first wristwatch design for Hublot — a captivating embodiment of Arsham’s concept of “fictional archaeology,” where contemporary forms are reimagined as ancient artefacts that transcend time.

Arsham Splash

Inspired by the fluid dynamics of water, the MP-17 Meca-10 Arsham Splash transforms the essence of motion and transparency into a wearable sculpture. Its compact 42 mm titanium case, paired with a frosted sapphire crystal bezel and rubber strap, channels Hublot’s Art of Fusion philosophy — merging technology, materials, and art into a seamless whole. The result is a timepiece that is as much a mechanical marvel as it is a piece of contemporary art.

At the heart of the watch lies Hublot’s new, smaller Meca-10 movement, a hand-wound calibre HUB1205 with a 10-day (240-hour) power reserve. The movement is visible through both the sapphire caseback and the dial’s signature feature — a splash-shaped aperture, which evolves from the droplet motif of its predecessor, symbolising how time leaves an impression.

Every detail of the MP-17 evokes Arsham’s artistic touch. The splash motif, fluid case lines, and green Super-Luminova accents on the hands, numerals, and power reserve indicator echo his creative palette. The design blurs the line between sculpture and timepiece, creating a visual metaphor for Arsham’s idea of collapsing time: “You’re not quite sure if it’s an object from the past or the future,” he once said in his 2016 TED Talk — an idea perfectly captured here.

Despite its avant-garde aesthetic, the MP-17 remains unmistakably Hublot. The brand’s six H-screws, distinctive lugs, and H-shaped titanium clasp serve as a reminder of its design DNA. The transparent sapphire components and microblasted titanium finish highlight both the complexity and craftsmanship behind this limited-edition timepiece.

Limited to just 99 pieces, the MP-17 Meca-10 Arsham Splash Titanium Sapphire is priced at USD 69,000 and is available at Hublot boutiques and authorised retailers worldwide.
