Republic of Gamers (ROG) has announced the arrival of its latest handheld gaming PCs in Singapore, with the ROG Xbox Ally and the more powerful ROG Xbox Ally X set to hit shelves on 17 October 2025.
Pre-orders for both devices run from now until 16 October, with early customers receiving exclusive gifts. Gamers will also get their first hands-on experience at the ROG Xbox Ally Experiential Event at VivoCity, Level 1, from 7 to 12 October.
A New Generation of Handheld Gaming
The ROG Xbox Ally series brings PC-level performance into a portable form factor, powered by AMD’s Ryzen™ Z2 Series processors.
The standard ROG Xbox Ally is equipped with a Ryzen Z2 A processor, offering four Zen 2 cores, eight RDNA 2 GPU cores, 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM, and a 512GB SSD. A 60Wh battery provides extended playtime in a lightweight 670g design.
For gamers who demand the best, the ROG Xbox Ally X ups the ante with an AMD Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme processor, boasting eight Zen 5 cores, 16 RDNA 3.5 GPU cores, and an integrated NPU for AI-powered features. It pairs this with 24GB of LPDDR5X memory, a 1TB SSD, and a larger 80Wh battery, all in a 715g frame.
Both models feature a 7-inch Full HD IPS display with 120Hz refresh rate, AMD FreeSync Premium, and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus for durability.
Ergonomics also takes center stage, with contoured grips inspired by Xbox controllers, impulse triggers, HD haptics, and assignable back buttons for personalized control.
Optimized by Xbox for Handheld Play
In collaboration with Xbox, the ROG Xbox Ally series benefits from a new Handheld Compatibility Program, which ensures thousands of PC titles are optimized for portable play. Games in the Xbox library will carry either a Handheld Optimized or Mostly Compatible badge at launch, letting players know which titles are ready out of the box and which may require minor tweaks.
Another innovation is advanced shader delivery, which preloads game shaders during download. This feature allows supported titles to launch up to 10 times faster, run smoother, and use less battery during first play sessions.
For Ally X, the inclusion of AMD’s NPU unlocks AI-powered features coming in 2026.
These include Automatic Super Resolution (Auto SR), which upscales games in real time for sharper visuals and smoother framerates, and Highlight Reels, which automatically capture memorable gameplay moments for easy sharing.
Experiential Event at VivoCity
Fans eager to try the new handhelds before launch can do so at the ROG Xbox Ally Experiential Event, happening from 7–12 October 2025 at VivoCity Level 1, Central Court 3. Alongside the Ally series, ROG will also showcase its latest 2025 laptops, including the new Zephyrus and Flow models powered by AMD processors.
Pricing and Pre-Order Offers
The ROG Xbox Ally will retail at $799, while the ROG Xbox Ally X will be available at $1,299.
Both devices will be sold at the ROG Experience Store Bugis, the ASUS Online Store, and authorized retailers across Singapore.
