Apple introduced the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max, its most advanced Pro models ever.
With an all-new design powered by the A19 Pro chip, these devices deliver record-breaking performance, professional-grade camera systems, and the longest battery life ever in an iPhone.
Available in deep blue, cosmic orange, and silver, the new Pro models set a new standard for flagship smartphones.
A new design for power and endurance
The iPhone 17 Pro lineup debuts a lightweight aerospace-grade aluminium unibody, laser-welded with an Apple-designed vapour chamber that dramatically improves thermal performance.
This enables higher sustained speeds for gaming, video editing, and AI workloads, while also keeping the phone comfortable to hold. The internal redesign allows for a larger battery, giving iPhone 17 Pro Max the best battery life ever in an iPhone. Both models charge up to 50 per cent in 20 minutes with Apple’s new 40W Dynamic Power Adapter.
Durability has also been enhanced. Both Pro models feature Ceramic Shield 2 on the front, offering 3x better scratch resistance and reduced glare. For the first time, Ceramic Shield also protects the back, providing 4x better crack resistance compared to the previous generation.
Stunning Super Retina XDR displays
Available in 6.3-inch and 6.9-inch sizes, the Super Retina XDR displays support ProMotion up to 120Hz, Always-On, and an industry-leading 3000 nits of peak brightness, making them the brightest iPhone displays yet.
Combined with improved outdoor contrast and anti-reflective coating, the displays are easier than ever to use in direct sunlight.
A19 Pro chip — the most powerful iPhone processor ever
At the core of iPhone 17 Pro is the A19 Pro, Apple’s fastest and most efficient chip yet. Featuring a 6-core CPU and 6-core GPU with Neural Accelerators built into each GPU core, the chip delivers up to 40 per cent better sustained performance than its predecessor.
Hardware-accelerated ray tracing brings console-quality graphics to iPhone, while the 16-core Neural Engine powers on-device AI and advanced Apple Intelligence features.
The Pro models also introduce N1, Apple’s new wireless networking chip that enables Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, and Thread, ensuring faster, more reliable connectivity.
A pro camera system with 8 lenses in your pocket
iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max feature three 48MP Fusion cameras: Main, Ultra Wide, and an all-new Telephoto. Together, they deliver the equivalent of eight professional lenses, including the longest optical-quality zoom ever on iPhone.
The Telephoto camera introduces an advanced tetraprism design with a sensor 56 per cent larger than before, unlocking 8x optical zoom at 200mm for incredible reach. Digital zoom now extends up to 40x, while an updated Photonic Engine uses machine learning for better detail, reduced noise, and true-to-life colour.
On the front, a new 18MP Centre Stage camera makes selfies more flexible than ever. Its square sensor enables both portrait and landscape shots without rotating the phone, while AI automatically expands the field of view to fit group selfies. It also supports Dual Capture, recording from both the front and back cameras simultaneously.
Built for filmmakers and creators
iPhone 17 Pro takes mobile video to new heights. In addition to Dolby Vision HDR, 4K120 fps, and ProRes Log, the Pro models are the first smartphones to support ProRes RAW, Apple Log 2, and genlock — a tool used to synchronise video across multiple cameras in professional productions.
With support from Final Cut Camera, Blackmagic Camera, and third-party accessories, iPhone 17 Pro integrates seamlessly into pro workflows from Hollywood sets to indie shoots.
iOS 26 with Apple Intelligence
Both Pro models ship with iOS 26, featuring the new Liquid Glass design, Live Translation, visual intelligence, and new tools for focus and productivity.
Apple Intelligence runs on-device using the A19 Pro, ensuring privacy while enabling advanced features like AI-powered call screening, contextual suggestions in Messages, and enhanced Siri performance.
New accessories
To complement the Pro lineup, Apple introduced the TechWoven Case in five colours, a Clear Case with MagSafe, and a Silicone Case in six shades.
A new Crossbody Strap, crafted from 100 per cent recycled yarn, offers a hands-free way to carry an iPhone and will be available in 10 colours.
