ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) is marking three decades of graphics card innovation with the launch of the ROG Matrix GeForce RTX™ 5090 30th Anniversary Limited Edition, unveiled at Gamescom 2025. This commemorative card combines cutting-edge performance with design cues inspired by ASUS’ rich history, creating a collector’s piece that also pushes the boundaries of modern gaming hardware.
The design of the ROG Matrix GeForce RTX 5090 pays tribute to past icons such as the EN9800GT Matrix while carving its own bold identity. Its hybrid copper-aluminium heatsink and metallic accents lend a premium finish, while the neat geometry of its backplate contrasts with a circular frame housing two stacked fans. A multidimensional translucent panel brings back the celebrated “infinity mirror” lightshow from the ROG Matrix RTX 2080 Ti, ensuring the new Matrix dazzles whether mounted horizontally or vertically.
Performance, as always, is at the heart of the ROG Matrix. The card supports up to 800 watts of power delivery, thanks to its ability to draw power from both a 12V-2×6 cable and the GC-HPWR slot on ASUS BTF motherboards. This unlocks massive overclocking potential while still allowing users to run the card in standard configurations. Its PCB incorporates a three-ounce copper layer, improving heat dissipation and stability for extreme performance tuning.
Cooling is another area where ASUS has raised the bar. The ROG Matrix GeForce RTX 5090 carries forward the quad-fan design, including a backplate-integrated fan for vertical airflow, boosting static pressure and thermal efficiency. It also brings back Memory Defroster technology, a feature that allows professional overclockers to avoid cold bugs when pushing hardware to the limit. Paired with 0dB fan technology, liquid metal thermal compound, and ASUS-patented full-copper vapour chamber technology, the card maintains outstanding performance while minimising noise.
On the software side, the new Matrix integrates seamlessly with ASUS GPU Tweak III, offering real-time monitoring, performance tuning, and innovative tools such as Power Detector+, Thermal Map, and sag detection sensors. These ensure that enthusiasts and professionals alike can monitor, calibrate, and optimise their systems with ease.
To celebrate its milestone, ASUS is also running a “Cheers to 30 Years” virtual amusement park event, where participants have the chance to win this exclusive graphics card and other prizes. The ROG Matrix GeForce RTX 5090 30th Anniversary Limited Edition will be available in Singapore from the end of October 2025.
