Sony has launched the RX1R III, the latest iteration of its acclaimed RX1R series, boasting a remarkable 61-megapixel full-frame Exmor R™ CMOS sensor paired with the advanced BIONZ XR™ image processor and a premium ZEISS® Sonnar T* 35mm F2 lens.
This combination delivers stunning resolution, impressive low-light performance, and a wide dynamic range, enhanced further by an anti-reflective coating and the removal of the optical low-pass filter for sharper images.
Designed for creative freedom, the RX1R III features Sony’s cutting-edge AI processing unit that intelligently tracks subjects and eyes for precise autofocus in both stills and video.
Though it has a fixed lens, users can switch between three effective focal lengths (35mm, 50mm, and 70mm) using the Step Crop Shooting function, with RAW shooters able to adjust focal length after capture. Macro photography is also supported with close focusing down to 20 cm.
The camera’s sleek, lightweight magnesium alloy body blends durability with comfort, featuring a high-resolution 2.36-million-dot OLED electronic viewfinder and intuitive controls embedded within a minimalist design.
It’s powered by a rechargeable NP-FW50 battery, supports rapid USB Type-C charging, and offers extended shooting options through external power.
Committed to sustainability, the RX1R III is produced in facilities powered by 100% renewable energy and packaged in eco-friendly materials, while accessibility features like a Screen Reader and Display Magnification cater to visually impaired users.
Optional accessories such as a thumb grip, body case, and aluminium lens hood complement the camera’s performance and usability.
The RX1R III will be available at $6,199 at selected retailers and the Sony Online Store.
