Girard-Perregaux’s Laureato 42 mm in Infinite Grey: A Timeless Tribute in Grand Feu Enamel

Girard-Perregaux adds a stunning new chapter to its legendary Laureato collection with the launch of the Laureato 42 mm in Infinite Grey. With a dial crafted using the rare and meticulous Grand Feu enamel technique, this latest creation blends technical mastery with enduring elegance.

A Dial of Exceptional Depth and Brilliance
At the centre of the Laureato Infinite Grey is its most captivating feature: a smoky bluish-grey enamel dial that defies both time and trends. Made using the ancestral Grand Feu technique, the dial is painstakingly crafted in-house from a finely ground mixture of silica, minium, potash, soda, and metal oxides. It is fired in a kiln at 800°C up to ten times, with only the most flawless dials surviving the process.

What results is a radiant, translucent finish layered over a sunray flinqué motif, offering a sense of depth and subtle tonal variation that simply cannot be replicated by mass production methods. Resistant to ageing, fading, and oxidation, the enamel dial is not only a visual marvel but a tribute to the Maison’s uncompromising craftsmanship.

A Design Icon, Reimagined
The Laureato’s unmistakable silhouette remains fully intact in this 42 mm edition. Its distinctive octagonal bezel, positioned on a circular plinth and tonneau-shaped case, delivers an architectural harmony that plays with light across polished and satin-brushed surfaces.

The integrated steel bracelet and slim profile ensure both a modern aesthetic and all-day comfort. Rhodium-plated baton hands and a slender central seconds hand—featuring a counterweight shaped like Girard-Perregaux’s signature Gold Bridge—underscore the brand’s horological heritage. A discreet date window at 3 o’clock, presented in matching tones, completes the dial with understated elegance.

A High-Performance Heart
Inside, the watch is powered by the GP01800 automatic movement, a calibre designed, developed, and hand-assembled in-house at the brand’s La Chaux-de-Fonds Manufacture. Measuring just 3.97 mm thick, it delivers a robust 54-hour power reserve while maintaining a slim, elegant profile.

The movement is finished to haute horlogerie standards, with a pink gold oscillating weight decorated with circular Côtes de Genève, mirror-polished screws, hand-bevelled edges, and gilded engravings. Each detail reflects over 230 years of watchmaking excellence that has come to define Girard-Perregaux.
