Legion Pro 7i Gen 10: The Elite Gaming Laptop That Works as Hard as You Play

Out-Play. Out-Perform. Out-Pro. Lenovo isn’t kidding with that tagline. The Legion Pro 7i Gen 10 aims for high-end gaming, and then throws in enough power and polish to make productivity a breeze too. I’ve spent a week with this 16-inch beast, running titles like Cyberpunk 2077, CS2, and Need for Speed Heat, before switching over to my regular work stack of endless browser tabs. It handled everything like a champ.

Check out a short gameplay video I made below, where I tested it out with the 3 games.

Impressive OLED display
The 16-inch OLED display is stunning. With a resolution of 2560×1600, a 240Hz refresh rate, and HDR 1000 certification, it makes every game pop.

The contrast is insane. Deep blacks, bright highlights, and amazing colour accuracy (100% DCI-P3).

Lenovo includes anti-burn-in tech, so you don’t have to worry about screen degradation after long hours of gaming or productivity.

Performance that punches hard
At the heart of the Legion Pro 7i is Intel’s Core Ultra 9 275HX processor. It’s got eight performance cores (up to 5.4GHz), and it chews through everything I threw at it, from high-res gaming to multi-layered video edits.

It’s backed by 32GB of blazing-fast DDR5 RAM and the new NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Ti with 12GB of GDDR7 memory.

In plain English? It’s ridiculously fast. Cyberpunk ran at ultra settings with ray tracing on. CS2 easily maxed out the 240Hz display. Need for Speed felt fluid and ultra-responsive, even during chaotic nighttime races with heavy particle effects.

Lenovo’s AI Engine+ isn’t a gimmick. It actively monitors your gameplay, adjusts performance settings in real-time, and optimises fan speeds and power usage based on what you’re doing. It kept things smooth and stable.

Thermals done right
Lenovo’s ColdFront Vapour system uses a massive vapour chamber and triple-fan layout to keep things cool, even during intense gaming sessions.

I never once felt the keyboard get too hot, and the fan noise stayed surprisingly low.

The Fn+Q shortcut lets you switch between Performance, Balanced, and Quiet modes instantly. In Extreme Mode, I saw the GPU temps stay under 30°C while gaming, which is solid.

Not just for gaming
Let’s be clear. This is a gaming laptop first. But it’s also a workhorse. I did video editing and kept many Chrome tabs open without a single hiccup.

The 1TB Gen 4 SSD kept file access fast and snappy, and battery life was decent, about 5 hours during light productivity work. Not bad for a machine this powerful. Its webcam is AI-enhanced and delivers optimised video quality.

Keyboard and audio
The Legion TrueStrike keyboard is a joy to use. Key travel is satisfying, the feedback is tight, and the per-key RGB customisation looks great without being over the top. It also has a large, smooth touchpad that’s accurate and comfortable, though most gamers will pair it with a mouse.

On the audio side, the Nahimic 3D system delivers rich, spatial sound. It’s great for games and decent enough for music and movies, too. I liked how the AI Smart Profile adjusted audio depending on what I was doing.

Ports and connectivity
There’s no shortage of ports here. Full-speed 2.5G Ethernet, HDMI 2.1, Thunderbolt 4, and plenty of USB-C ports mean you can dock this to a full setup with zero fuss. Wi-Fi 7 is onboard too, giving you future-proof speeds and lower latency, which really helps in competitive online games.

Design and build
It’s built like a tank, but still sleek enough to carry around. The aluminium chassis feels premium, and the design is clean and mature. I can also turn on the RGB for flashy gamer vibes. At around 2.8kg, it’s portable enough for commutes or travel. Plus, Lenovo uses eco-friendly materials and packaging, which is a nice touch.

Final thoughts
The Legion Pro 7i Gen 10 is a serious laptop for serious gamers who don’t want to compromise when it’s time to work.

At a starting price of $3,546.98, it’s a premium buy, but one that justifies every dollar. You’re getting cutting-edge performance, stunning visuals, advanced cooling, and a smooth productivity experience in a single, well-built device.
