Apple Unveils macOS Sequoia: Elevating Productivity and Intelligence on Mac

Apple previewed macOS Sequoia, the latest version of its advanced desktop operating system, packed with features to enhance productivity and introduce transformative intelligence.

This major update includes iPhone Mirroring, significant updates to Safari, a new Passwords app, and an array of highly anticipated games, alongside Apple Intelligence to deliver new capabilities.

Key Features of macOS Sequoia:

iPhone Mirroring: Expanding Continuity, this feature allows users to access and control their iPhone directly from their Mac.

Users can swipe between Home Screen pages, launch apps, and receive notifications, all while their iPhone remains locked.

Safari Updates: The world’s fastest browser now includes Highlights, a tool that surfaces relevant information such as summaries, quick links, and more.

A redesigned Reader offers a streamlined view of articles, while the Viewer places videos front and centre with full system playback controls.

Gaming Enhancements: macOS Sequoia supports a stellar lineup of new games like “Assassin’s Creed Shadows” and “Frostpunk 2.”

Features like Personalised Spatial Audio and Game Mode provide an immersive gaming experience, with advanced power management to boost performance.

Passwords App: Built on Keychain, the new Passwords app centralizes passwords, passkeys, and other credentials, all backed by secure end-to-end encryption and seamless syncing across Apple devices.

Apple Intelligence: Integrated deeply into macOS Sequoia, Apple Intelligence leverages generative models and personal context to deliver useful insights and actions.

It includes systemwide Writing Tools for rewriting, proofreading, and summarizing text, and Image Playgrounds for creating playful images.

Additional Features:

● Window Tiling: Easier and faster tiling of windows on the desktop.

● Video Conferencing: The new presenter preview makes it easier to present, letting users see what they’re about to share before they share it, and works with apps like FaceTime and Zoom.

● Messages: Text formatting options, animated effects, and message scheduling.
macOS Sequoia takes full advantage of the power of Apple silicon and the Neural Engine, making the Mac more capable and intelligent than ever. This update enhances productivity, connectivity, and personalization, ensuring a superior user experience.
