The UR-100V Magic T offers scope for endless interpretations and changes in mood and appearance over time. The watch’s creators, Martin Frei and Felix Baumgartner have developed a living language of design vocabulary and horological technicality that constantly reinvents the wandering hour’s principle based on satellites moving along a graduated arc of a circle.
URWERK’s longevity lies in its capacity for reinvention, and the UR-100V Magic T is no exception. It can be compared to a “colour exploration vehicle” and reflects the brand’s strong sense of nuance. This timepiece is closely tied to the realm of space, with its design evoking a different dimension beyond the boundaries of current watchmaking.
The UR-100V Magic T has two long recesses on the sides of its satellite carrier, which represent the Earth’s trajectory through the interstellar void. One recess counts the Earth’s distance travelled along its axis in 20 minutes, while the other counts its distance travelled around the Sun during the same period of time. The watch thus serves as a witness to our planet’s journey through space, accompanied by a Magic T-colored heavenly body.
