Shooting Moments And Making Stories With The Fujifilm X-H1

Fujifilm X-H1 front and back view

Earlier this month, Fujifilm announced the launch of the Fujifilm X-H1 camera. It’s the highest performance camera in a series already known for its superior image quality. It combines a robust, durable body with superior image quality and easy operation for an outstanding performance.

In-Body Image Stabilization For Higher Quality Photographs

Demonstration of IBIS system for Fujifilm X-H1

The Fujifilm X-H1 is the first X Series camera to feature an internal in-body image stabilization (IBIS) system. This system comprises of three axial accelerometers, three axial Gyro sensors, and a specially developed dual-processor.

These all work together to do approximately 10,000 calculations per second, and the information is then combined with compensating mechanisms. The end result is an uncompromised image quality, and precision with performance.

Basically, the IBIS system calculates the movement of the camera and compensates for it in the picture itself. Now if you’re taking photographs from the top of a cliff, you don’t have to worry about your shaky hands spoiling the image!

Robust And Durable Body for Easy Operation

Not only is the Fujifilm X-H1 dust-, water-, and cold-resistant, it also uses a 25% thicker magnesium alloy compared to its predecessors. This, combined with the modified mount structure, results in a lighter and more compact body. One that not only feels good to take photos with, but which you can also take on your wildest journeys.

The increased particle size on the camera’s external surface also makes sure that your camera doesn’t get banged up. Years later, and it’ll still look as good as new!

Beyond all that though, the camera also features improvements that make it easier to handle. It uses a large-grip design with a new shape and a leaf-spring switch for the shutter-release button. This creates a stable feel as you hold it, and makes the shutter-release button easier than ever to use. No more missed photo opportunities, just because the button won’t click fast enough!

It also has the quietest shutter sound of all the cameras in the X Series. This makes it an ideal tool for environments where silence is better than golden. For example, wildlife photography, weddings, or taking photos of your sleeping child or pet. Though perhaps that comes under wildlife…

Videos, Flicker Reduction, And More

Fujifilm ETERNA

The Fujifilm X-H1 is also the first camera in the X Series to include ETERNA, a new film simulation ideal for shooting movies. This mode simulates cinematic film, creating understated colours and rich shadow tones. Now you can do post-processing to your heart’s content!

In another first for the camera, it’s also the first in the X Series to feature a flicker reduction mode. Flicker reduction modes are essential for photography of quick moving objects, like indoor sports and such. The X-H1 achieves this using a mirrorless camera, allowing for stable exposure during burst shots even under fluorescent and mercury lighting.
